It all started on an island…
Sounds exotic doesn’t it? I grew up on Boularderie Island, Cape Breton, where every kid played baseball, summer jobs meant sweating it out on a strawberry farm six days a week, and the occasional weekend adventure involved sipping Rockaberry in the woods behind Tim Hortons. Now, I’ve leveled up to sipping Rockaberry in my own home like a lady in the bustling metropolis of Dartmouth.
After graduating from NSCC I said “It’s time to explore the world! Venture out on my own!”… I made it all the way one province over to Newfoundland where I met my husband before I’d even wrestled the last box out of the car. I studied Visual Arts at MUN in Corner Brook for two years, moved back to Nova Scotia to finish my fine art degree at NSCAD University, and have been living the dream on the mainland ever since.
A few random facts you may or may not find interesting:
I have two poodles named Walter and Donnie. Walter is the sweetest standard poodle and Donnie is a mini terror who’s been reigning hell in our lives for five years. It’s true. The second child is always the hardest.
I like to give the illusion I’m easy going but I usually have a list and a plan for everything.
I spend a large portion of my budget on candles and coffee. Worth it.
I love Christmas. You’ll find me at every craft show, tree lighting, and parade in the city.
I love being a designer. I have a great sense of humour. I’m good people. I have tons of experience and I don’t half-ass anything… except for washing the dishes. Sometimes they just need to “soak”.
