de la dori

This was such a fun project! This bar sits on the backside of Tori Dori, an Asian fusion restaurant located at Queen’s Marque, along the Halifax waterfront. It has an 80s/90s hip-hop vibe that inspired both the name and colour palette. “Dori” means “street” in Japanese, fitting for the long corridor leading in, while “De La” nods to hip-hop legends De La Soul and the idea of being “from the street.” As De La Soul says, “Stakes is high,” and so is the energy in this space!
